Jackie plays along and takes the 'Personality Test'
23 may 2019 - Pittsburgh Tribune Review by Shirley McMarlin.

Jackie Evancho isn’t playing on “Burn”, the first single from her new album, “The Debut”.

From the Broadway hit “Hamilton,” the aching story of betrayal is sung by Alexander Hamilton’s wife when she learns he’s been unfaithful. Like Icarus, “he’s flown too close to the sun,” and it ends with the chilling line: “I hope you burn”. Burn with shame or longing, or just literally burn? Watch Evancho’s smoldering video and decide for yourself.

Pittsburghers will hear that song and more when the Pine native appears May 31 in the Byham Theater.

Tracks on the April 19 release are from the emerging genre dubbed “Broadway’s New American Songbook” — songs from modern musicals that have captivated a new generation of theater-goers, like “Hamilton,” “Rent” and “Dear Evan Hansen” — and perfect for the 19-year-old whose big voice first charmed a national audience on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” when she was 10.
