Eleven-year-old Jackie Evancho truly has the voice of an angel in this spellbinding performance. In a heartfelt rendition of the worship song “To Believe,” the America’s Got Talent star showed off the power and control of a seasoned performer, as well as the ability to hit unbelievable high notes. At the start of the Dream With Me In Concert performance, Jackie told producer David Foster that her uncle Matt Evancho composed the song, and that it’s a prayer for “people who don’t have the luxury that we have.

Foster then sat to perform the piano part, and Jackie wowed everyone with her unbelievable vocals. She is truly an incredible talent to have that level of mastery of her voice at such a young age. In addition to remarkable technical skills, the young talent also has a real knack for knowing how to build the dynamics and emotion of the performance to make it hit really hard. By the time of the release of “To Believe,” Jackie was already a big star.

Jackie performed “To Believe” in 2011 while promoting her second studio album Dream with Me, and later uploaded an HD version of the performance to YouTube in 2019. Fans couldn’t get enough of the live cut, and added comments such as “The most angelic voice I ever heard past or present at any age. Truly a gift sent from the highest power” and “This song is one of my favorites from Jackie. Many of Jackie’s most popular performances come from her numerous appearances on America’s Got Talent. She first appeared on the show at age 10 and delivered a show-stopping audition. Her vibrato and refined delivery of the Italian language aria are just superb, and those high notes are for the ages! Jacqueline Marie Evancho is a 24-year-old singer who was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 9, 2000. At age nine, she placed as runner-up in the regional semifinals of David Foster’s Hitman Talent Search Contest. She subsequently got a shot at the big stage by performing at a David Foster & Friends concert in October 2009. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that Jackie initially made two unsuccessful auditions for America’s Got Talent before she passed her third audition in 2010. She would eventually place as runner-up in the series, which proved controversial, as many commentators felt she should have won. Jackie subsequently developed a career as a Columbia recording artist.
