Jackie Evancho is sharing some newfound wisdom with her fans.

The 23-year-old singer, who stumped the panel on The Masked Singer in May, unmasked herself in a very different way in a heartfelt video shared on Instagram Monday. 'Recently I’ve discovered something that I had all along… my voice,' she wrote next to the post. The hitmaker wore a long sleeve black top as she sat in what appeared to be her bedroom. Speaking into the camera she told her 102,000 followers that 'it took me a bit to work up the courage to do this.'

'Growing up in the industry is a challenge,' she said. 'Don't get me wrong, there are some wonderful things about it and I was blessed to be able to do what I love most and make a living that way as well, but... one of the issues I'm running into lately is the need to be perfect.'

'The Songs from the Silver Screen' artist who burst into the music business at the age of nine spoke about some of the pitfalls that happen when tackling a career at such an early age. 'Growing up, being told that in order for you to do the thing you love most it must be perfection, you must look perfect, sound perfect, behave perfectly as a 10-year-old child is a challenge. A big challenge.'

She finished second on America's Got Talent in 2010 and became the youngest Top 10 debut artist in history with the release of her 'O Holy Night' EP.

Jackie appeared on the National League of Junior Cotillions list in 2011 of Ten Best-Mannered People of 2011 for 'demonstrating humility and politeness as a young performer.' That same year and again in 2012, the Somewhere singer was listed in Billboard's 21 Under 21: Music's Hottest Minors. In 2018, she made her way into the Forbes 30 under 30 list of musicians.

The platinum selling singer explained that as a result of the focus on perfection, 'it's created these deep pressures in me that I place on myself to this very day. I kind of believe that it is partly causing disordered eating, my anxieties and all those other things on the list.'

To answer some of these frustrations, the singer and songwriter introduced a new song to her fans, one she wrote herself and created using Garage Band.

The song is called 'Get Out of My Life', which is at the end of her Instagram video.

'This song is about exactly this topic. You know, all these people in my life telling me what to do and telling me that I'm worth nothing if I'm not perfect. So, the song basically says, 'Get Out of My Life'.

Jackie said if the folks from her past listen to the song, 'they're gonna know who they are.'

'It's a bit of a confrontational video and that's okay. Sometimes we need to confront our demons and that is exactly what I'm doing.'
